A HARARE woman has taken her ex-husband to court demanding $230 000 in maintenance fees for the upkeep of their four minor children.

Iyda Nyika said Bernard Munhupendi had been neglecting the needs of his minor children.

Nyika said she wanted the court to compel Munhupendi to take care of his children and to enrol them at school.

“I want him to enrol his children at school, pay fees, buy uniforms as well as clothes.

“I want the maintenance to be garnished so that he pays everything because when l try to talk to him he always sends his violent people to me,” she said.

Munhupendi only offered $10 000 claiming he is unemployed.

“I am a pensioner and earn $30 000 only.

“The children are at my mother’s place right now, so I don’t see any need for that kind of amount.”

Magistrate Ayanda Dhlamini granted her $40 000, plus school fees for the children.
