adminDESPITE the competitive music industry in Zimbabwe, a Sakubva-based Zimdancehall artiste decided to defy the odds by releasing a 12-track singles collection debut.
Beverly Nyakuengama, affectionately known as Yung Taliban, said his humble beginnings propped him into following his passion for music adding that the highly competitive music industry in Zimbabwe did not deter him.
“It is a fact that the music industry has a lot of competition, but I am not moved. I love music and I will do my best to ensure that I achieve all my goals. I come from the ghetto and I want to be a role model and living example to aspiring artistes that any dream can be achieved. My humble background is my biggest source of inspiration. I am grateful for the coming of Diamond FM because that will help us get airplay as upcoming artistes in Mutare,” said Yung Taliban.
Some of the tracks on the collection are Handinyare Kupfugama, Mafaro Atanga, Nyika Inodadisa Zimbabwe, Amen, Can’t Stop, Gudu Mugudu and Tinofara Semboko among others.
Inspite of being an upcoming artiste, Yung Taliban has shared the stage with some of Mutare’s renowned dancehall artistes, including Carltrizzy and Preen king.
He is set to release a full album in December.
