We should move from begging for help on the streets

A 26-year-old Mutare-based man, living with a disability, says he wants to be like his hero – the late Jairos Jiri.
He believes there is a need for a collective effort to promote the lives of people with disabilities.
Tendai Mazuru said he has managed to acquire land, which he intends to develop, for the benefit of people living with disabilities.
“I have a huge piece of land that I wish to give to people with disabilities to start projects that will help them sustain their families,” he said.
“I want to be like Jairos Jiri, helping those who need assistance.
“It will give me great joy if they have a place to work.”
He said people with disabilities were often left behind, as organisations overlook them, when it comes to employment opportunities.
“l want everyone with a disability to stop begging on the streets and pursue projects that will benefit them and their children for generations.
“If we manage to start with at least 500 chickens, l think we will help everyone, and this can be done with everyone’s effort,” he said.
