The young man has so far shown the world that he is ready to carry over the otherwise daunting task left by his father. “This is my home and no amount of pressure would push me out of this immaculate group and I pray that my colleagues maintain their loyalty to Utakataka. My biggest prayer is for Peter to maintain his attitude towards music so that he can achieve the same milestone that his father reached in his music career or surpass it. I do believe that the young man is full of talent and he has shown that he is a quick learner and as his mentor I am very happy with his progress,” said Shiga Shiga.
Peter can now play lead guitar with much easy that he sent fans into wild excitement when he played lead guitar, his late father’s favourite, on the song Samanyemba last Friday when he played at Club Oasis in Masvingo.
Shiga Shiga and Spencer , the bass guitarist, play the role of mentor and teacher respectively.
He said he was happy that the whole group unconditionally welcomed the new leader and have vowed to spruce the image of the band.
“I am very happy that the whole group, after the death of Mudhara, referring to the late Dhewa, unanimously accepted the young man to lead the group and we are all working towards the same direction.
“At present, we are working on him so that he masters his father’s songs but very soon we will be practising his own staff. The young artiste will be sampling his own songs very soon, as we have started to rehearse them,” he said.
