“I will not rest”: Bulawayo man searches for wife who vanished with R100 000

An estranged Bulawayo businessman is appealing for information that could lead to the whereabouts of his wife of 23 years, whom he claims disappeared from their matrimonial home with ZAR100 000.

Mr Vincent Bhekumuzi Dube, a well-known businessman and member of ZANU-PF, said his wife, Florence Gama, left home unexpectedly and has not returned.

Speaking in an interview, Dube said he was traditionally married to Gama after fully paying lobola more than two decades ago and together they raised three children.

“We have been together for 23 years and I paid lobola for her in full according to our customs. We built a family together and were blessed with three children,” said Dube.

He alleged that Gama left their matrimonial home without informing family members and allegedly took ZAR100 000.

“She just disappeared from home and took a large sum of money. Since then, I have been trying to locate her without success. As a family we are worried and we need answers,” he said.

Dube said the sudden disappearance had left him emotionally devastated and disrupted family life.

“I never expected this after so many years together. We have shared a life, raised children and supported each other through difficult times. Her disappearance has left many unanswered questions,” he said.

He added that he was determined to find his wife and would exhaust all avenues available to him.

“I will not rest until I find her. I am using every possible resource available to me to track her whereabouts because I need to understand what happened and why she left in this manner,” said Dube.

He appealed to members of the public with information that could assist in locating Florence Gama to come forward.

“I believe someone out there may know where she is. We just want her to come back home or at least communicate with the family,” he said.

Efforts to independently verify the allegations or obtain comment from Florence Gama were unsuccessful at the time of publication.
