of its members and to support them in providing quality services in the public interest. The organisers also said the seminar will focus on New Accounting Standards affecting 2012 reporting, refresher on key IFRSs as well as on Common Errors in applying IFRSs.
“In addition, there will be an update from ICAZ, Auditing and Professional Standards Committee on audit issues affecting prepares of the financial statements,” ICAZ said.
The Institute seeks to be the pre-eminent professional body in the development and promotion of accountancy, assurance and advisory services, business and good governance practices.
Other topics to be discussed at the seminar include International Financial Reporting Standards, which are accounting standards issued by the International Accounting Standard Board, with the aim to provide a single set of high quality on global accounting standards that require transparent and comparable information in general purpose financial statements.
Speakers expected at the workshop include Mr Lewis Hussein a partner at PKF Chartered Accountants, Mr David Marange a partner at Ernest & Young, Four Cubits Advisory Services executive technical director Mr Umoja Phiri, Ms Evelyn Namusi, PricewaterhouseCoopers audit manager and Mr  Tumai Mafunga, who is a partner at Deloitte. The seminar is open to professionals who practice as auditors, accountants, tax advisors, directors, analysts and interested individuals.
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Zimbabwe is one of the major accounting bodies in Africa and is a full member of InternationalFederation of Accountants and Central of the Pan African Federation o Accountants.
