adminAddressing members in Bulawayo last week, the institute’s new president Mr Pious Manamike said chartered secretaries should do their jobs ethically.
“My vision is to see us producing good quality and wholesome professionals who adhere to the set rules and regulations of doing business.
“For our businesses to be viable and profitable, we therefore have to shun corruption at all costs,” he said at a meeting to meet the institution’s members in Bulawayo.
He bemoaned the lack of good corporate ethics and governance saying this gave rise corporate scandals, corruption and poverty.
Mr Manamike urged students and business people to be widely read and knowledgeable so as to keep themselves up to date.
“Corporate managers, students and business people should participate in continued professional development as one does not know what skills would be required tomorrow,” he said.
The secretary for ICSAZ Bulawayo branch, Mr Patson Mlilo said the ultimate aim of the branch was to produce quality professionals through continuous development courses.
“This is the beginning of new things to come and with the support of our president, we wish to produce quality professionals whom we also encourage to partake in continuous development courses,” he said.
