The Ignite Youth Organisation recently held its Inaugural Purpose Conference, where young people gathered to discover their life purposes, careers, and build meaningful relationships.

Building on its mission to empower young people since 2018, Ignite Youth Organisation brought together renowned speakers to share their insights on finding purpose, achieving career fulfilment, and nurturing supportive relationships.

The conference, held in Harare, ran under the theme ‘Align, Activate, Achieve’.

IYO founder Tadzie Madzima said discovering one’s purpose in life is essential for achieving personal fulfillment.

“Just having a job did not give me fulfilment, which is why I felt compelled to discover my purpose.

“I had to go on a journey to self-discovery. I ultimately realised that my purpose lies in assisting young people in finding theirs; therefore, I urge you not to lose hope,” Madzima said.

Madzima added that people often confuse purpose and career.

“Your purpose is the reason why you are here on earth, and it might take time to discover what your purpose is, but with time it will be revealed to you.”

The conference took a holistic approach, exploring not just purpose but also careers, mental health, and relationships, providing a comprehensive platform for personal and professional growth.

Another speaker, Mr Tinaani Nick, shared inspiring words on marriage, highlighting the value of having a supportive partner who champions one’s dreams and ambitions.

“Marrying the right person can be a life-changing decision, and finding someone who not only loves you but also supports your career aspirations is a tremendous achievement,” he said.

“I encourage you all to prioritise finding that right partner, as it can bring immense joy and help solve many of life’s challenges,” said Mr Nick.

Bishop Dr Tendayi Mutungamiriri spoke about the need to have wisdom and spiritual grounding, which are key to self-acceptance and individuality.

“There is only one version of you on this earth; there is no one like you. Celebrate yourself,” he said.
