THE Insurance Institute of Zimbabwe 2014 Summer School opens in Nyanga today with participants expected to deliberate of various issues affecting the insurance industry. Issues to be discussed include corporate governance, insurance fraud, the impact of financial conglomaratisation on the insurance industry and the role of risk management in modern business actuarial entrepreneurship.
In addition participants will also discuss emotional intelligence, entrepreneurial leadership and insurance innovations as well as proper and fair treatment of customers.
Speakers will include Mr Joseph Makwakwa from FML Holdings, Mr Malvin Mudzingwa from Hillcrest Loss Consultancy, Mr Loyd Kazunga – from NMB and Mr Nathan Chikono from Champions Insurance Company.
Other speakers include Mr Moses Mujati – Moonlight, Mr David Foya – National University of Science and Techanology, Mr Oliver Kapepa – Colonnade Business School, Mr Memory Nguwi – Industrial Psychology Consultants and Mr Josphat Kakwere – Insurance and Pension Commission.
Delegates to the summer school are mainly drawn from supervisors, junior and middle managers as well as other interested persons.
The main aim of the summer school is to provide a platform for training and grooming future leaders in the insurance industry.
Particular emphasis is on grooming future leaders who will make things happen, restore the glory of the industry and take it to lofty heights from the foundations that the current leaders are laying.
