The next hearing for two Harare men seeking refusal of further remand on their charges of erecting illegal billboards in Borrowdale, Harare, with damaging information to a local property development company will be heard on December 8.
The State has now served the defence with its response in the application for refusal of further remand of Grant Russell and Mark Strathen, who are facing criminal nuisance charges.
Prosecutor Mrs Shambadzeni Fungura served Mr Tendai Biti, who is representing the two, with a copy of her response opposing the application.
Russell and Strathen had their last application for review dismissed by the High Court.
The charges state that on December 10, 2020 at around 2pm opposite Celebration Centre in Borrowdale, the two erected a billboard with damaging information on West Properties in an alleged bid to tarnish its image.
It is the State’s case that Russell and Strathen caused false alarm to the public through the information which was written on the billboard and that the contents were likely to interfere with ordinary comfort or convenience of clients of West Properties.
The company made a report to the police leading to their arrest.
