Illegal warehouse demolished in Greystone Park

Herald Reporter

Harare City Council has demolished an illegal warehouse in Greystone Park Ward 18 following an outcry by residents.
The Zanu PF local councillor in Harare East Constituency Rufaro Matsika said the illegal warehouse structure was erected right in the middle of a residential neighbourhood.

“It had become an eyesore and was negatively impacting the community because of the heavy machinery and activities that were being carried out as if it were in the industrial area,” she said.

“This resulted in a serious backlash from the residents and as the councillor for Ward 18, l had to represent my community right through to development control, getting full council recommendations and right through to getting demolition orders which were served on them.”
