I’m no cougar, says Naomi Campbell

Naomi Campbell has revealed she does not like being labelled a cougar, despite playing on in “Empire”. The 44-year-old star plays fashion designer Camilla Marks in “Empire” — which was on UK TV on Tuesday — and her character’s love interest Hakeem is 20 years her junior. Naomi is adamant it’s “not natural” to her, as she does not date younger men in her actual personal life.

The model-turned-actress said: “(Camilla) is in her 40s, she likes young guys. I don’t date younger men so it’s not natural to me. Hakeem is younger than my brother. I don’t like that word (cougar).

“It’s not that big a deal, it’s just a word. But I’m from London and it’s not a word we associate with and say very often is it?”

While Naomi has always been supremely confident on the catwalk, she admits she felt “shy” while filming the raunchy scenes with Bryshere Y Gray — who plays Hakeem in “Empire”.

Speaking to The Sun newspaper, Naomi said: “It is nerve racking to have people around you on your first day, on a pool table making out.

“But you have to do it, you have to get on with it, you have to get over it. I am shy at times in certain things and that was something I was shy about. But I did have fun.” — bangshowbiz.
