Impressive One Wallet draw

THE NetOne One Wallet Cup, which was launched in Harare yesterday, will give fans in the capital another Derby opportunity as Dynamos and CAPS UNITED clash.
Championship leaders Highlanders were drawn against How Mine in a Bulawayo derby that will be played in Gweru and Bosso vice chairman Mgcini Mpofu described in as a fair draw.

“I am so happy with the draw and it was fair on both sides and being paired against How Mine gives us a derby although we will play it away from home,” he said.

“I think this will be a competitive game and we have been playing very well and we hope to welcome back Bruce Kangwa who had a bout of flu although we will be without Khumbulani Banda who signed for South African side Maritzburg United.

“We are looking forward to the game and we are aiming to make the final.”

How Mine chairman Mlondolozi Nkomo said they face a team that has been doing well.

“Our aim to progress from the first stage. We welcome any opponents as it is a Cup game.

“The derby will be interesting as we will play an in-form team and I hope we will have a change of fortunes in this game,” Nkomo said.

After last week’s Harare Derby, Harare giants Dynamos and CAPS United will meet again at the National Sports Stadium.

“It is always exciting to be drawn against CAPS United and we feel challenged by such games, so I am very happy with the draw,” said Dynamos chairman Kenny Mubaiwa.

“Playing against CAPS United is good and we are not looking at anything short of a win so that we progress and win the Cup.

“Our hope is that we get a referee who is fair as what we witnessed in some Derbies does not impress at all, so we hope for a fair and balanced referee.”

Triangle will play their match against Harare City at Mandava in a lunch time kick-off and team chairman Lovemore Matikinyidze said they were ready.

“I am happy with the draw and I believe a Cup game is different from a league match so we will take the game seriously.

“There is no small team in the league, so we will play as if it is the final. The draw was very fair and I am looking forward to the match.”
