The Judiciary Service Commission (JSC)’s 2015 resolution is to improve clientele relations, Chief Magistrate Mr Mishrod Guvamombe has said. He told magistrates and support staff at the Harare Magistrates’ Courts recently that clients were key stakeholders in the justice delivery system.
Speaking while touring the Civil Court and Magistrate Courts recently, Mr Guvamombe emphasised on zero tolerance to corruption in the judiciary.
“We should strive for excellent customer care in line with the judiciary chapter to deliver world class judicial service.
“As a customer-centric organisation, we should help our customers make better decisions by engaging them in individual, interactive relationships.
“People who have a positive experience with an organisation are likely to tell two or more about their experience,” he said.
Mr Guvamombe added that understanding the importance of good customer care was essential for a healthy organisation.
“Excellent customer care begins at the initial greeting, whether that’s in person or over the phone. Clients should be served timeously.
“In all of these situations, using good communication skills will increase the chances of a positive first impression and they (people) will lead to a wonderful referral system as words spread about your conduct,’ he said.
Mr Guvamombe reminded magistrates that cases should be dealt with timeously, striving to fight and reduce backlogs.
On the issue of corruption, Mr Guvamombe said those caught on the wrong side of the law would punished.
He also took the opportunity to listen to challenges faced by staff members.
