ONE of the businesswomen honoured at the National Hall of Fame has dedicated her award to her late daughter, who died in the Tynwald High School disaster.

Samantha Tsitsi Mutusva’s daughter, Tarisai Kimberly, died in a bus accident during a school trip to Nyanga in 2022.

Samantha makes wedding and party cakes and started her business in 2012.

“I feel humbled by this award,” said Samantha. “My efforts take me back to the life of my daughter Tarisai.

She suffered a painful death and today I dedicate this historic award to her.

“May her soul continue to rest in peace.

“Allow me to thank my clients and my husband for support as well as the National Hall of Fame for recognising my efforts,” said Samantha. Samantha was one of a number of people who were honoured for their impact in business and creating employment.

Among those honoured were former Health Deputy Minister, Dr John Mangwiro of Centre for Diabetic Management, Dr Grace Musandirire of Grace Resort, Harare Mayor Jacob Mafume, Dendera musician Sulumani Chimbetu, football coach Tonderai Ndiraya, football commentator Charles Mabika and social media star Mai TT.
