A Harare woman has been sharing a bedroom with her married son after claims that his wife and mother-in-law had bewitched him.
Flaura Murumbi made the claims before Harare magistrate Meenal Narotum while applying for a peace order against Naomi Muyakachi.
Marumbi accused Muyakachi of using a secret charm that has made her son develop a mental illness.
“Muyakachi and her daughter had something to do with my son’s illness, he came back home about six weeks ago and he hasn’t been well.
“He is acting like he has a mental illness and since he moved back home his wife never came to check up on him.
“Muyakachi has now teamed up with her daughter and wants to take him back when they caused his suffering. I don’t want anything to do with them, they should just bring back my son’s lobola and things end,” said Marumbi.
She added;
“I want to pay for my son’s medical bills and since he can’t look after himself, they must bring back his lobola.
“They have also been spreading false allegations that I am having a sexual relationship with my son when he is mentally ill.”
Muyakacha denied the allegations saying their hatred is mutual.
“Marumbi is the one who is in the habit of verbally insulting me and threatening me.
“Yes, I admit I told her neighbours that she is in the habit of bedding her son.
“When she heard that, that’s when she started harassing me and my daughter,” said Muyakacha.
She said she just wants their children to work on their marriage.
“She took her son about six weeks ago and is blocking every move for them to meet
“She keeps him locked in her bedroom and my worry is to have our children back together,” she said.
Magistrate Naratom granted Flora a peace order refraining Muyakacha from insulting and harassing Marumbi.
