IN-LAWS FIGHT OVER US$2

Mangaliso Kabulika

BLESSING Zhuwawo claims that she was physically assaulted by her brother-in-law after getting a US$2 loan from her sister.

She has approached the Harare Civil Court seeking a protection order.

Blessing said Brian Mukuya ordered her not to ask for money from her sister because he is the one who works for it.

Blessing claims that Brian started beating her, ordering her to leave their parents house.

“How can I leave when it is my father’s house.

“He has to understand that he is only an in-law and cannot force me out of my father’s house.

“He even switches off power for me because I’m failing to contribute towards the bill yet he evicted my tenants who were my source of income,” said Blessing.

In his response, Brian said:

“She is lying that I beat her, has she informed her father about the issue because I was never confronted?

“I do not give her orders, it’s just that she does not contribute anything towards the bills.”

The magistrate granted Blessing a protection order valid for five years.
