In a bid to celebrate beauty in the country’s two big cities, Size 4 Modelling Agency is set to host the first ever Miss Harare-Bulawayo tomorrow at Private Lounge in Bulawayo. Founder of Size 4 Agency, Wilbert Rukato, said the main aim of the event was to bring together models from Harare and Bulawayo in a different pageant.“Harare and Bulawayo only meet at national functions such as Miss Zimbabwe so this is just to make sure they interact at city level before they meet at national level,” said Rukato.
The pageant will have 30 participants – 15 from either city.
“Since Bulawayo is the host city, we will still be allowing entrances from Bulawayo until Friday (today) when the boot camp finishes,” said Rukato.
The boot camp for Bulawayo models began on Wednesday.
The models from Harare have all travelled to the boot camp and will get the chance to tour the City of Kings and Queens today.
The theme for the inaugural pageant is “Celebrating a Winning Brand”.
Rukato said the theme is meant to encourage models to become brands as modelling that can make the international community celebrate the country’s pageantry.
“The agency is celebrating 20years in the modelling industry hence the theme will also speak to our brand.
“The major sponsor of this event is Divine Assignments, a company that has had several partnerships with Size 4 in organising pageants.”
Winners of the Miss Harare-Bulawayo will walk away with cash prizes and various hampers.
The judges will comprise of former male and female models from the two cities.
