FORMER Zvishavane Town Council chairman Mr Alluwis Zhou is reportedly battling for life at Zvishavane District Hospital after he was involved in an accident along the Masvingo-Zvishavane highway on Sunday night. According to his sister, Mrs Loice Mbewe, Mr Zhou, an independent candidate for the Zvishavane-Ngezi National Assembly seat, was driving from Masvingo when he was involved in the accident.
“He is admitted to Zvishavane District Hospital and is in pain. He sustained head injuries after his car plunged into Runde River while trying to avoid a head on collision with oncoming traffic,” said Mrs Mbewe.

She said her brother was coming from a private business trip.
She refuted rumours which were doing rounds that Mr Zhou was coming from Masvingo where he had gone to print his campaign T-shirts and posters.
Mr Zhou, still serving suspension from MDC-T, is facing Zanu-PF’s Cde John Holder and MDC-T’s Mr Timevious Acropol in the 31 July elections.
