THE Zimbabwe Indigenous Miners Association (ZIMA) has applauded President Mnangagwa’s administration for widening business opportunities for locals through proactive policy interventions and resource allocation, especially to the mining sector.
“Under the astute leadership of His Excellency, President Dr. E.D. Mnangagwa, indigenous miners have been afforded greater access to opportunities, resources, and supportive frameworks, enabling them to expand their footprint in the mining sector,” said the organisation in a statement.

“As the nation journeys towards Vision 2030, indigenous miners stand poised to play a transformative role in driving inclusive economic growth, job creation, and sustainable development, firmly positioning the mining sector as a pillar of Zimbabwe’s aspiration to attain upper-middle-income status.”

ZIMA said its members were thrilled to participate at the Munhumutapa Day commemorations in Zvishavane, Midlands Province, on Monday, which coincided with President Mnangagwa’s 83rd birthday.
During the event, ZIMA said its national chairperson, Mr Silingiwe Masuku led its entire leadership and membership to extend heartfelt congratulations to President Mnangagwa.

“The celebrations reflected the deep respect, loyalty, and admiration that miners across the nation have for the President’s visionary leadership, dedication to empowering indigenous communities, and unwavering commitment to the growth of Zimbabwe’s economy.
“We wish His Excellency many more years of good health, wisdom, and strength as he continues to guide our nation towards prosperity,” ZIMA national secretary general, Mr Dadiso Brian Maseva, said.

He said his organisation was working with other stakeholders to plug out gold leakages through collaboration with Fidelity Gold Refiners.
“This is part of a sustainable strategy to exponentially raise gold reserves and significantly stimulate and boost the economy,” said Mr Maseva.

“ZIMA seeks to be one of the RBZ and Fidelity ambassadors.”
He said as miners they were ready to deliver and empower more indigenous miners to ensure attainment of Vision 2030.
