GOVERNMENT has been lauded for putting in place measures that promote viability and sustainability for Zimbabwean industries against the backdrop of the negative economic impact of Covid-19.

Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries (Manicaland) outgoing president Mrs Victoria Jakazi said the National Development Strategy 1’s progressive reforms like emphasis on import substitution and promotion of local supplies are helping to gradually revive some companies that were ailing.

The implementation of sector-specific innovations, she added, were aimed at enhancing industry’s production.

Mrs Jakazi also commended the stabilisation of the exchange rate that has put inflation under control and allowing businesses a chance to forecast and plan better.
