A three-month-old infant from Murewa, Benjamin Mvundura was this week killed when a scotch cart he and his mother were aboard overturned killing him instantly.

Meanwhile, an 82-year-old man also died in a separate scotch-cart accident that occurred in Chivhu.

In the first incident, Mvundura’s mother boarded a scotch cart while on their way to a nearby grinding mill with the baby strapped to her back.

It’s alleged that while on their way the scotch-cart hit a tree stump and overturned and landed on its left side, killing the infant and seriously injuring his mother and another passenger.

In Chivhu, the 82-year-old Tsaurai Dzveda was aboard a scotch-cart which was being controlled by a 14-year-old boy.

The scotch cart reportedly hit a tree and overturned.

Reports are that Dzveda was hit on the head by the scotch cart, trapped inside and died on the spot.
