A 22-YEAR-OLD Bulawayo woman has appeared in court for allegedly stabbing her husband with a kitchen knife during a domestic dispute over suspected infidelity.

Edline Shoko of Cowdray Park pleaded guilty to charges of physical abuse when she appeared before Western Commonage magistrate Mr Archie Wochiwunga.

She was remanded out of custody to September 9 on US$30 bail, pending the production of a medical report. As part of her bail conditions, Shoko was ordered not to interfere with State witnesses until the matter is finalised.

The prosecutor, Mr Tafara Dzimbanhete, told the court that the incident happened on August 25 at around 9PM.

“On that date, the accused, who was with her husband Vumani Sibanda (22) at their Cowdray Park residence, had a misunderstanding after Sibanda accused her of cheating,” he said.

The court heard that the argument escalated, leading Shoko to grab a kitchen knife and stab her husband in the left side of the chest.

Sibanda was rushed to Mpilo Central Hospital for treatment. A report was made to the police leading to Shoko’s arrest.
