The Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency (Zimstat), in collaboration with the National Social Security Authority (NSSA), is scheduled to undertake the 2024 Informal Economy Social Protection Priority Needs Assessment Survey (IESPPNAS) from tomorrow to September 2024.
The survey’s main objective is to inform the designing and costing of the informal sector social security schemes in terms of benefit types and levels, contribution structures, collection mechanisms, compliance enforcement, scheme administration, and stakeholder preferences.

In a statement, Zimstat public relations and communications officer Mr Roland Chiringa said IESPPNAS will be conducted across all provinces, with collected information treated with strict confidentiality and solely used for statistical purposes.

“The survey will be conducted under the provisions of the Census and Statistics Act (Chapter 10:29),” he said.

“Given the preceding, Zimstat is seeking cooperation from the selected households. Our field personnel will have official letters and personal identity cards for ease of identification. More information regarding the survey can be obtained from Zimstat provincial offices across the country.”
