Ingutsheni Central Hospital in Bulawayo is today commemorating the belated World Mental Health Day, with this year’s theme being “Prioritising Mental Health in the Workplace.”
World Mental Health Day is an international day for global mental health education, awareness and advocacy against social stigma. It was first celebrated in 1992 at the initiative of the World Federation for Mental Health, a global mental health organization with members and contacts in more than 150 countries.
It is marked on 10 October.

The Ingutsheni Central Hospital event kicked off with a march, featuring health practitioners, police officers, and members of the public. The procession began at Donnington Police Station in Belmont and made its way to the health institution.
Commemorations will continue at the Hospital where a keynote address from Dr Nemache Mawere, the Chief Medical Officer will be delivered.
The event aims to raise awareness about mental health issues and the importance of supporting mental well-being in work environments.
