MANICA Diamonds go into today’s Castle Lager Premier Soccer League tie against Chicken Inn at Vengere, without key players, due to injury.

The Gem Boys will be without Lawrence Masibera, Liberty Chakaroma, Eriya Mafirenyika, and Pasca Manhanga, for the sixth straight week.

Timire Mamvura, Takunda Jeffrey, and Michael Tapera are also carrying knocks and could also miss the game.

Manica Diamonds coach, Johannes Nhumwa, said his charges were still ready for the game.

“We are ready to play with every player available.

“We have a squad and that means if someone isn’t available, someone will have a chance to play also. “We have some of our key players out, but that doesn’t mean we will not be able to play.

“We are prepared enough to cause an upset as we have been pacing up to get the job done against Chicken Inn.

“They have been struggling, but we will not consider that as every game comes with its own challenges.

“We will be playing at home and we want to utilise home advantage.

“There is always pressure at home, so we need to apply ourselves well and utilise chances that come our way.”

Chicken Inn will be looking to wake up from a slumber that has seen them slipping out of the title race.

The Gamecocks are third on the league table with 45 points, while Manica Diamonds are in seventh place, with 39 points.
