In an interview, Ngwabi said he was working on his second album which he believes still needs some polishing up before it is released some time this year.
The seven-track album includes tracks such as Molo Ntombi, a song about a young man trying to court a lady.
Noma Uhlala Kude is a track that highlights the challenges faced by people in a long distance relationship. In the song, a lover vows that his love will stand against odds, even long distance.
Ngwabi’s track Yaphela Imali Yami got a warm response from the crowd that thronged BAC to watch Zahara. The song talks of the weakness of a man who squanders his money on ladies of the night.
The musician has appeared on the Zim-All Stars, a compilation with his track Nomzamo. The album was produced by MacDonald “McDee” Chidavaenzi.
Ngwabi also said in the past years a number of promoters had helped him on a number of projects but has reached a point whereby he has to work alone.
“I have been helped by a number of promoters on different projects. However, having to work alone without any sponsors has helped me grow,” he said.
Ngwabi also urged promoters to appreciate local artistes’ efforts saying this will make them work harder to produce good music.
Many people who follow the artiste’s music were shocked to see him perform at BAC as the musician had been out of the scene for some time.
“Seeing one of our favourite musicians perform was a pleasant surprise,” said a music fan.
The musician also said he will feature other artistes on his second album.
