AN insecure husband is blaming his sister-in-law for influencing his wife to be promiscuous.
This was revealed during an application for a protection order by Janet Bisent, against Owen Manongwe, at the Harare Civil Court.
Janet told the court he could no longer take Owen’s abusive behaviour anymore.
She claimed whenever Owen experienced problems with her younger sister, he blamed her for influencing his wife.
“I don’t have peace of mind with this man, he insults me whenever they encounter problems at their home.
“Recently, he verbally abused me at a funeral and attempted to beat me up.
“He was only restrained by mourners at the funeral.
“He is also in the habit of accusing me of influencing all the wrong things he does,” said Janet.
Owen denied the allegations.
He did not oppose the granting of the protection order but he insisted his sister-in-law should desist from meddling in his marital affairs.
“I also want peace and a person who does not believe in violence.
“I don’t know all these allegations that she levelled against me,” he said.
Presiding magistrate Sharon Mashavire granted the protection order in Janet’s favour.
