Woman wins case against stepson

A CITY man has accused his stepmother of being abusive towards him following the death of his father.

Ephraim Dick made the revelations while he was opposing Madeline Chirento’s peace order application at the Harare Civil Court.

Dick claimed his stepmother wanted to use the peace order to evict him from his father’s house.

“I have never insulted or abused her in any way but I think she wants to use this peace order to evict me from my late father’s house.

“It’s not fair that she enjoys all the benefits of the property my father left for us,” said Dick.

In response, Chirenje said she could not stomach her stepson’s behaviour following the death of his father.

“He thinks he is now the man of the house and can insult me and call me a prostitute just because his father passed away.

“I am only seeking peace with him so that he stops telling people that I am responsible for his father’s death.

“He should actually be banned to come anywhere near me,” said Chirenje

Presiding magistrate Sharon Mashavire granted the peace order in Chirenje’s favour.
