ZIMBABWE will host the International Youth Summit on Land and Economic Freedom, focusing on youth empowerment policies, access to land, entrepreneurship, and economic inclusion.

The conference will coincide with Africa Day and is scheduled for May 23-26, 2025.

President Mnangagwa is expected to address the gathering, which aims to bring together approximately 3 000 youths, including students from various tertiary institutions across Africa and beyond.

The event is being organised by the Africa Youth Congress, a Pan African initiative geared towards enhancing the development of Africa through proper education.

Organisers of the event, Africa Youth Congress chairman Cde Taurai Kandishaya, said at least 3000 youths, including students from various tertiary institutions across Africa and beyond will converge in Harare for the conference.

“We are expecting more than 1000 foreign students from Africa to attend the summit. We are saying youths must come in their numbers to attend the event and benefit from President Mnangagwa’s policies. The President is expected to address the gathering,” he said.

The youths are expected to come and learn practical examples on how Zimbabweans are building their own country.

“As President Mnangagwa says, a country is built by its own people. So we will take them and show them that a black person, an African, by the way, can run a mine successfully and professionally,” said Cde Kandishaya.

“An African can run a farm progressively and professionally. That is what we need to show them.

“The summit will showcase practical examples of how Zimbabweans are contributing to national development.”
