Tanaka Nyanoka-Jameson High School
Sanyati District received a major boost in youth media development on May 21, 2026, when the Zimpapers team visited Jameson High School to conduct a media workshop and launch Junior Media Clubs in Mashonaland West Province.
The delegation comprised Mr Conrad Mupesa, broadcaster Njondakadzi, and Mrs Pauline Matanda, the Public Relations Manager for Zimpapers.
The workshop was aimed at empowering young people with media and communication skills while encouraging responsible storytelling among students.
During the interactive session, students were taught the fundamentals of journalism, including news writing, fact-checking, and ethical reporting.
The team emphasised the importance of verifying information before publishing it, as well as the need to protect minors and respect people’s privacy when sharing stories online.
Students also learned about media literacy and the responsible use of digital platforms. The presenters said that publishing false information or sharing someone’s identity without consent can be harmful. They encouraged learners to write truthfully to win readers’ trust.
The workshop further introduced students to podcasting, photography, videography, and broadcasting.
This made learners understand the different areas of the media industry.
Learners were given an opportunity to ask questions and interact with experienced media practitioners, making the session both educational and inspiring.
The visit by the Zimpapers team left many students motivated to pursue careers in journalism, broadcasting, and content creation.
