Investors keen on CBD parks

Melissa Makoto Herald Reporter
Harare City Council (HCC) has said it will work tirelessly to restore parks in the central business district (CBD) to their original pristine condition.

The capital’s two major parks – Harare Gardens and Africa Unity Square – have become decrepit as the local authority battles to restore order.

The parks have become sanctuaries for street kids and unruly individuals who often harass passers-by.

Residents believe that most of the parks have lost their aesthetic value.

In an interview with The Herald yesterday, city spokesperson Mr Michael Chideme said they were inviting investors to partner them in sprucing up the image of the recreational facilities.
