Move over, slackers! Bulawayo’s own lyrical troublemaker, Lights Out WakoBulawayo, has fired warning shots with his latest Zimdancehall scorcher titled “iProtocol engaka”, now out on all major streaming platforms.

Known for his razor-sharp rhymes and township tales, the Mzilikazi-born rapper, real name Lymon Tanaka Moyo, isn’t pulling any punches. This time, he’s coming for the serial delayers, fake friends, and loudmouths who sabotage progress, all in the name of “protocol”.

“This track is a wake-up call,” he said in an exclusive interview.

“It’s for those so-called associates who slow you down with their red tape thinking and fake vibes. It’s also a diss to those who are too forward – abaphaphayo!”

Ouch! But that’s not all – WakoBulawayo makes it clear: while not drawn from personal beef, the song reflects a township reality many know too well.
“I’m simply painting a picture of toxic friendships that kill dreams. Sometimes the people closest to you are the biggest roadblocks.”

Up next, the rapper isn’t slowing down. He’s gearing up to drop a boundary-pushing hip-hop mixtape, “Made In Manwele”, which will flip iconic US rap hits into Ndebele gold. Think 50 Cent’s Window Shopper, Fantasia’s When I See You, and Soulja Boy’s Kiss Me Through the Phone, all getting a ghetto-fabulous, localised remix!

And yes, you heard it here first, separate full-length albums for Zimdancehall and hip-hop are locked and loaded for release later this year.

A multitalented firebrand, Lights Out isn’t just killing mics. He’s also a rising filmmaker and community voice, blending entertainment with raw, relatable social commentary.

From the streets of Mzilikazi to digital charts worldwide, Lights Out WakoBulawayo is here to shake the game, one brutally honest bar at a time.
