TEHRAN. — Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif welcomed Tuesday’s resolution adopted by the UN nuclear agency to close probe into Iran’s alleged nuclear activities. Zarif said Iran is ready to implement the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), reached on July 14 in the Austrian capital of Vienna, in close cooperation with the P5+1 group, namely, Britain, China, France, Russia, the United States, and Germany.
Based on the resolution, the fabricated subject of the so-called possible military dimensions (PMD) of Iran’s nuclear programme is closed and filed as a history.
With the move made by the board of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the issues regarding the nuclear activities of Iran in the past is closed and the UN nuclear watchdog will open a new chapter with the implementation of the JCPOA in its agenda, Zarif said.
Board members of the IAEA on Tuesday adopted a resolution to close the investigation into Tehran’ alleged nuclear activities after 12 years.
Upon receipt by the board members of the IAEA report which verifies Iran’s implementation of its relevant commitments under the JCPOA, the probe into Tehran’s past suspected nuclear activities will be finished, according to the resolution. — Xinhua.
