Is education a yardstick for success?

IT appears most people believe education is the key to success in life.

I indeed agree with the notion.

However, there are other ways of achieving success.

Success can be seen as getting a better-paying job, driving a big flashy car and living in a posh house, which can be attained when you are well-educated.

But it is not only a good education that guarantees success in life. We have some people who were not well-educated but managed to discover and capitalise on their passions.

When you watch television, the actors excite you. Some actors might not have made it through school but still have talent.

The short of it is, if you have a passion for something, do not ignore it. Go for it!

Yes, we must all be educated but should things not go our way, academically, there is no need to despair. There are several people who did not pass at school but live comfortable lives.

You just need to discover yourself and pursue your gift or talent.

In conclusion, there is no standard measure of success because each individual has his or her definition of success in life.

When you set yourself a goal in life and achieve it, that is success.
