HAS Daniel Msendami sealed his stay at Orlando Pirates for the new season or he is still set for a return home later this month?
The good money was on the Warriors forward coming back home, amid speculation that he was set to join Scottland, since the local transfer window opened.
But the decision by the Buccaneers to take him to Spain for their pre-season tour gave a hint that Msendami could be given a chance to continue growing into life as a Pirate.
And, his first goal for Pirates in a friendly match against Spanish side Cadiz on Saturday, appears to have quashed any thoughts that he will leave the South African champions.
Pirates fought from an early setback to register victory in a pre-season friendly played at the Cádiz Sports Complex on Saturday.
The result saw the Buccaneers register the first win of their ongoing Spanish tour after kicking things off with a come-from-behind stalemate in their match against Córdoba earlier in the week.
Pirates still have three friendlies remaining in Spain before returning to South Africa, where they will begin their 2026/27 Betway Premiership campaign against newly promoted Milford on 1 August.
Cádiz made the perfect start, taking the lead inside the opening five minutes.
Ibon Sánchez found the back of the net with a right-footed finish from the centre of the six-yard box after being picked out by captain Álvaro García.
Despite the early setback, Pirates responded superbly and quickly found their rhythm.
The Soweto giants levelled matters in the 10th minute through Tshepang Moremi, who curled a stunning left-footed strike from outside the penalty area into the top corner after Deon Hotto’s corner was only partially cleared.
