It’s a women’s affair

All is set for the Women Arts Festival dubbed Wafest at Alliance Francaise tomorrow where a glittering line-up of top female musicians is set to perform. The festival is meant to celebrate womanhood and various achievements by female artistes over the past year.

The event is running under the theme, “Testing the Limits” and will see female musicians such as Cynthia Mare , Pah Chihera, Diana Samkange, Lady Squanda, Emillia Patrick, Lady Squanda, Edith WeUtonga, Pauline Gundidza, Eve Kawadza, Jean Masters and Farida among others battle it out.

The show organisers said all is going according to plan.

“We kick off with a Zimra Charity Ball show which is held at the Rainbow Towers. Then performance at the Women’s Festival at Alliance Francaise which is aimed at celebrating women in art,” said the organisers.

The female line-up is expected to thrill fans with their hits songs.

“Runonzi Rudo” hitmaker Pah Chihera promised fireworks and said she will use the opportunity given to women artistes.

“I am happy that I am amongst the list of top female musicians set to entertain the fans, celebrating womanhood through arts. I will also play some of my music which will encourage women to value their marriages,” she said.

Samkange said she was really happy and looking forward to the bash.
