IT’S been over a month since Dynamos last updated their Facebook page.
It might seem irrelevant but, in today’s world, it’s a sign of a club that is trapped in the past.
Yes, football clubs’ social media handles matter a lot these days because they have become the mediums through which the teams communicate with their fans and partners.
The clubs also use such sites to boost the image of their sponsors and, in DeMbare’s case, they should be using such platforms to boost the profile of their major sponsor, Sakunda Holdings.
Dynamos, as the biggest and most successful football club in the country, should be leading by example. when it comes to the changes which are happening in the game, and these include the use of social media sites by clubs.
They can’t claim their Facebook page was hacked because if that was the case, the hackers would be flooding it with negative material which shows that it’s the work of hackers.
What isn’t questionable is that the inactivity on their Facebook page has coincided with the decision to axe Chiwoniso Mashakada, the person who was managing their social media sites.
The last post on the page was on May 25 and it was the club congratulating goalkeeper Martin Mapisa on his birthday. Mapisa turned 26 that day.
Since then, 32 days have passed and nothing has been posted on that page.
