ALL in good time!
Elvis Chipezeze (28) believes his move to South Africa’s Baroka FC in the Absa Premier Soccer League was timely because he is in his best form.
“It came at the right time. With patience and consistency it finally came along,” he said.
He is aware that for him to remain at the top he has to work hard.
“Everything is well, I am taking it game by game. If you are a foreigner coming to the Absa PSL with all those statistics you are expected to work extra hard to secure your place. Nothing can beat hard work,” said Chipezeze.
He gives credit to Chicken Inn.
“Chicken Inn played a very big role in shaping my career. When I started playing in 2014 coach Joey Antipas told me to play with confidence and also work hard on and off the field,” said Chipezeze.
He feels good at his new home.
“When I arrived here the guys made me feel at home and also having Tapiwa Chawapiwa in the team made it easier for me because I have someone I can talk to about certain things and he has really helped me adjust,” he said.
Even though he is elated by his move, it has not gone without challenges.
“Moving to a new place will always come with its fair share of challenges, here the PSL is faster, more tactical so it was a bit of a challenge in the first days but now that I have played some games I no longer have those problems and also here in Limpopo it is too hot compared to Bulawayo,” said Chipezeze.
He dreams big.
“It is every player’s dream to be among the best. In five years’ time I want to find myself playing for one of the biggest teams in the Absa Premier Soccer League,” he explained.
