IT’S HELL FOR MANGOMBE AS DEMBARE FANS TURN AGAINST HIM

DYNAMOS coach, Genesis Mangombe, is a man under siege and not even this win will ease the pressure.

That it came against another newly-promoted side and, in the end, was a nervy one, will not help his case.

The Glamour Boys’ three wins have all come against the newboys.

Some disgruntled fans brandished placards and demanded Mangombe’s ouster.

The chorus will only grow louder if he loses the next match against FC Platinum at the weekend.

“I don’t believe these are true supporters of Dynamos who are singing like that,” said Mangombe.

“I just saw the placards at the ground so I don’t know where they are coming from.

“I was just thinking of the game, not concentrating on the placards.”

Captain Emmanuel Jalai managed to buy the fans’ loyalty for a moment with a fortuitous 15th minute strike while Namibian forward Sadney Uri-Khob added to the tally with his first goal in DeMbare colours, about seven minutes later.

Arenel Movers, however, gave the giants a huge scare when substitute, Adonice Nyoni, headed home from close range in the 89th minute from a cross by Grey Kufandada.

Nyoni had barely been on the pitch for two minutes, after replacing Brian Jaravaza.

A sizeable number of fans continued to chant songs denouncing the coach long after the final whistle.

Some of the messages on the placards read “12 games, 2 wins”, “Taneta kurova dzakabva kuD1” and “Paumire pakaoma”.

But Mangombe maintains he has not failed.

“If a coach fails, he goes, yeah, he is allowed to go. It’s not a problem coaching the team. But if the bosses are seeing something in you, it means they see progress in everything.”
