DYNAMOS coach Lloyd ‘MaBlanyo’ Chigove says his team remains focused ahead of their Castle Challenge Cup clash against Simba Bhora despite the disruption to their pre-season preparations by a player boycott on Tuesday.
The DeMbare players downed their tools over unpaid salaries.
They refused to train in protest over unpaid January wages.
However, normalcy at the Harare giants’ camp yesterday as the club held two training sessions.
They had a training session in the morning and another session in the afternoon, signaling a return to their pre-season routine.
In an interview with Zimpapers Sports Hub, MaBlanyo downplayed the strike and attributed it to what he termed ‘miscommunication’ between the parties involved.
He stressed that the team remained fully focused on their upcoming friendly matches ahead of the Castle Challenge Cup.
“Today (yesterday), we managed to have two training sessions, one in the morning and the other in the afternoon,” MaBlanyo said.
“We remain focused as a team ahead of the Castle Challenge Cup clash.
“We are working hard to finalise our squad ahead of the new season and we are using friendly matches to assess our players.”
The coach revealed that Dynamos will play a friendly match in the Midlands on Saturday, followed by another match on Monday, as part of their preparations for the new season.
“The industrial action was a result of a miscommunication and everything is being worked out as normalcy has been restored.
“We are working on bringing the best out of the squad.”
Dynamos players are yet to receive their salaries.
