NORMAN Mapeza feels he enjoyed the game more when he was a footballer than the time he has spent in coaching.
He celebrated his 51st birthday yesterday.
This year marks the 15th anniversary of the year he first won a league championship.
He led Monomotapa to success against all odds in 2008.
During his playing days, he captained the Warriors and played in the UEFA Champions League for Turkish giants Galatasary.
He has made his way to the top of managerial ladder winning five league titles.
Four of them have come with FC Platinum.
“First and foremost, I want to thank God for this healthy life and it’s just His will for me to be where I am today,” he told H-Metro.
“To tell you the truth, I have enjoyed my playing career the same way which I’m enjoying my coaching.
“But, I can also say coaching has been very stressful, something which I didn’t experience as a player.”
FC Platinum will become the first team in the history of Zimbabwean football to win a record of five league titles on the trot should they succeed in this campaign.
Mapeza will be hoping his boys can provide him with a perfect birthday present should they beat leaders CAPS United in a Castle Lager Premiership Super Sunday at the National Sports Stadium.
Makepekepe are in control of the proceedings with just a point above their opponents.
