IT’S OUR BIGGEST GAME: TONDE

Blessing Malinganiza

THIS time, last week, Tonderai Ndiraya had just been reinstated as Dynamos coach after a brief and ill-timed suspension from his job.

Now, he is preparing for another Harare Derby showdown on Sunday.

Yesterday, he addressed the media ahead of the big battle.

“It’s going to be very difficult as always, we are not looking at what CAPS were doing in the past five games, that will not count at all on Sunday.

“They are our biggest rivals locally so we expect it to be a difficult match, if anything, they’re going to harness all their energy in preparation for this game.

“I think, for us, it’s the biggest game of the season.

“They will not want to lose to their rivals and so are preparing for a team which is going to show a lot of hunger, which is going to put all their problems behind them, and unite for one cause.

“We are aware of all that, we are preparing for all that in mind and we are not taking any chances, we are going into the game fully prepared for a team which is really going to come at us.

“We should be ready for the game and hopefully we will get a result.”

The Dynamos gaffer said they had to work on the psychological aspect of the boys, which had been affected by the recent events, at the club.

“As you are aware, a lot happened last week, which I don’t want to dwell into,” he said.

“Naturally, when such things happen they (players) get to be affected psychologically, we have been really try-ing to work hard on the team psychologically.

“It is a journey that started with some disturbances last week, we took off again and I’m happy that the mood has been good, the boys have been pushing as they used to do, before.

“I’m confident that the team will come together again for that one cause I spoke about and get the result on Sunday.

“We are traveling our own journey, we want to get back to winning ways, it’s been two games now without a win.”

He wants all his players to play a part in the goals. “We’ve also been trying in the midfield, to get some goals from that department and, hopefully, on Sunday, we can score goals for us to win the match.

“If you want to win a match, you must score goals.

“If you don’t, it becomes difficult for a team to win, we’ve been working on that and putting on more effort in those areas.”
