Iyati off to Dubai

Star FM presenter Fiona Itayi Takaendesa, popularly known as “Iyati”, leaves for Dubai today as part of her prize for wining last year’s DJ of the Year competition.
Iyati will be travelling with a lucky listener, Sheldon Kasi from Highfield, Harare on an all-expenses paid trip courtesy of Kenyan Airways.
At the prize presentation ceremony at Star FM studios in Harare yesterday, the “Breeze” presenter could not hide her joy.

“I am overwhelmed, but thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who voted for me.

“This is going to be my first time in Dubai and also to travel with Kenyan Airways and I know I’m going to do, lots of shopping for shoes and handbags,” said Iyati who seemed to have a bad case of flue.

The presenter will also enjoy various activities at the world’s shopping capital while staying at a luxury city hotel according to the airline’s representative, Chipo Karoro.

“There is so much in store for the winners. They will have a sundowner cruise, a 4×4 desert safari ride, camel rides, belly dancing shows among other activities to entertain the winners, we just want them to enjoy themselves,” she said.

Star FM boss Admire Taderera thanked the airline for its support and pledged they would pick the pace up the pace up from the hype they created last year.

Comfort Mbofana, programming manager at Star FM, said there would also be competitions that would give listeners the opportunity to enjoy local tourism destinations.
