Delivering his solidarity message at the 12th Zanu-PF Annual National People’s Conference yesterday, Cde Sibanda said the party was founded on revolutionary principles.
He said it was disappointing to note that there were members within its ranks who were double dealing.
Cde Sibanda said some party leaders were counter-revolutionaries and accused them of fuelling divisions within the party in a bid to gain political mileage.
“This is what kills our party,” said Cde Sibanda.
“As members of the party we can differ in levels of education but we must never differ in the ideology of the party. The seed of revolution is ripening and people should understand the difference between policies of Zanu-PF and other parties.
“Even if it is not learned, a dog knows how to protect its home. It refuses to allow strangers to invade its home. There are people in the party who do not know who they are.”
Cde Sibanda condemned political parties funded by Western countries to destabilise sovereign African countries through inciting violence.
He said the gains of the liberation struggle were under threat of being reversed by puppet political parties that are being used by former colonisers. In a direct attack on the MDC formations, Cde Sibanda said violent uprisings in Africa and the Arab world were a result of Western machinations through sponsored political movements not founded on revolutionary principles.
“People should understand that until our people stop receiving funding from Western countries to cause violence we will continue to have problems,” said Cde Sibanda.
“As war veterans we are not a violent people. We believe in ideas. We have an ideology. We believe that one day ideas will defeat weapons. Zanu-PF does not believe in violence. But if worse goes
to the worst, weapons will defend our ideas.”
Cde Sibanda said war veterans will remain steadfast in defending the sovereignty of the country and commended President Mugabe for his unwavering stand against neo-colonialism.
He described President Mugabe as a voice of reason and conscience in global politics and said the whole world acknowledged his ability to tell the truth at the United Nations.
Cde Sibanda said the length of President Mugabe’s leadership should not be measured in years, but in terms of fulfilling revolutionary goals.
He challenged Zanu-PF members to be conscious of their revolutionary identity and to take the lead in safeguarding it.
Cde Sibanda said the inclusive Government was a dysfunctional arrangement whose continued existence was an insult to the departed heroes.
He challenged the Government and the party to recognise the role of war collaborators in the liberation struggle by coming up with specific empowerment programmes which had them in mind.
