LOCAL custodians of horse racing, Mashonaland Turf Club have pushed out the provisional list of horses to contest for the 2019 edition of the 1 200m Jacaranda Free Handicap race set for 24 November at Borrowdale.
The event was postponed last week due to soaring temperatures. It has RTGS$40 000 declared as stake money for sharing among the winner as well as all the placed runners. There are five equines on the list, four runners from Bridget Stidolph plus one from trainer Gokhan Terzi.
Love To Bluff is the highest rated nominee at (77) according to the statistics made available courtesy of MTC. Up next in terms of merit ratings is stable mate Prescott merit rated (68) followed closely by Queen of The Ring merit rated of (67), Gimmethegreenback (65) as well as Wantage rated (63).
According to the racing manager, runners will go through the final race qualifying stage tomorrow. Once the final list is out trainers are expected to return back to the stables to search for a suitable pilot, thereafter start working on the tactical approach to the race. The race card is expected to be ready before the end of the week to enable punters to go through the career records of runners as well as trainers tips in search for a possible winner as well as the runners-up.
