IT’S BEEN three years since Soul Jah Love’s death and a recent tombstone unveiling has evoked memories among fans.

The tombstone was donated by Tendai Mbofana of Ngoda granites and the masterpiece, first of its kind, took close to a year to complete.

Born Soul Musaka, the late singer’s tombstone was unveiled at a private function only attended by his brothers, three sisters and close friends at Warren Hills Cemetery.

Soul Jah Love died on February 16, 2021 after losing his battle with diabetes.

He was 32.

He was declared a Liberation Hero.

“We are forever grateful to Tendai Mbofana of Ngoda Granites, we have been working with him on this project for a very long time.

“Finally, a tombstone had been erected in honour of Soul Jah Love and we are sorry to the fans for making the event a private affair.

“We didn’t want to have a repeat of the day of his burial when his fans destroyed many graves around the cemetery,” said Soul Jah Love’s brother Solomon Musaka.

Musaka urged fans to visit the grave in an orderly manner.

“The tombstone is a first of its kind by Ngoda granites and we urge all Soul Jah Love’s fans that when they visit the site, they must do so in an orderly manner.

They should not tamper with anything and leave everything as it is,” said Musaka.

Following the development, social media was abuzz with emotional reactions as his legion of fans reflected on the life of the late singer.
