Yadah FC scored a goal in each half to secure a comfortable 2-0 victory over Chegutu Pirates in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match at the Baobab yesterday.

Goals from Khama Billiat and Mandlenkosi Mlilo were enough to end Yadah’s winless run in the league while plunging the Premiership newcomers deeper into relegation waters.

Captain Billiat gave Yadah a 13th minute lead while Mlilo sealed victory two minutes into the second half.

Pirates’ foreign striker, Richard Kumi, was unfortunate not to grab a face saver as he hit the upright post twice

Chegutu are now under the guidance of former Yadah coach, Takaendesa Jongwe whose first assignment was a disappointing defeat.

Jongwe blamed their inefficiency in front of the goal as they fluffed numerous chances in the second half.

Jongwe was hurt by the outcome but is confident that he will rescue Pirates from the precarious zone they are embedded

“I’m disappointed because we wanted to win from the start but it was never to be. I saw a lot of improvement in the second half. We did enough which could have given us a goal or two but unfortunately lady lucky was not on our side.

“Let our loyal and passionate supporters know that from what I observed I saw a starting point, there are good days to come and they should come earlier than yesterday,” said Jongwe
