HE is surely the man of the moment!
Just a week after dominating the National Arts Merit Awards (Nama), Jah Prayzah’s star continues to shine with prominent businessman Esau Mupfumi yesterday giving him a Mercedes Benz.
The Tsviriyo hitmaker scooped four accolades at the awards ceremony proving he is the man to watch in the showbiz scene.
The second hand Merc, an E-class 240 is said to be worth about $16,000.
In an interview after the presentation Jah Prayzah was at a loss of words and struggled to express his joy.
“No words can express my gratitude, I feel very much honoured by such a surprise from Mupfumi. May God bless him,” he said.
Jah Prayzah’s real name Mukudzei Mukombe said he already had a car, but refused to name it.
The presentation of the car was made at the Harare International Conference Centre.
Mupfumi said Jah Prayzah is a talented artiste who deserved to be supported.
“The youngman is very promising and he sings songs that have meaning and applicable to all Zimbabweans. He has so much respect and has supported us in our business that is why we decided to honour him with the car,” said Mupfumi.
He urged Zimbabweans to support artistes as they thrive to make a name for themselves in the industry.
“When you get into a car, one of the first things you want is music for entertainment, therefore musicians play an important role and in turn we must support them whenever we can,” said Mupfumi.
