The Zimbabwe National Army has cemented its relationship with contemporary sungura musician Mukudzei “Jah Prayzah” Mukombe by partnering with him at his album launch scheduled for today at Harare International Conference centre.Commander of the Defence Forces General Costantine Guveya Chiwenga will officiate at the launch while the ZNA Band will lead a procession of Jah Prayzah’s fans and friends in a march from Jameson Hotel prior to the event.

According to Benjamin Nyandoro of Jive Zimbabwe, the partnership comes as a result of a good relationship with the artiste.

“We are humbly honoured to announce that General Chiwenga has confirmed his attendance at the launch. He has also facilitated that the ZNA band plays for free, a development we are humbled by,” he said addressing a Press conference yesterday.

The album carries songs “Soja Rinosvika Kure”, “Kumaricho”, “Kumabuda ne Zuva”, “Sei Mambo”, and “Makanika” among others.

All is set for yet another significant event in the entertainment sector as the top musician launches his much hyped 10-track album “Kupfumbura Mhute”.

Traditional Motswana musician Charma Girl has since jetted into the country ahead of the launch. Addressing journalists yesterday, she promised to charm locals in a duet “Dali Wangu” with Jah Prayzah that is taken off the latest album. Top brass artistes Oliver Mtukudzi and Sulumani Chimbetu have been slated to perform at the event together with Shinsoman, Maskiri, Ex Q, Tererai, Pauline Gundidza, Garry Tight, Tariro ne Gitare and Ammara Brown.

“We have upped our game and are using a bigger venue so that other artistes have an opportunity to participate. They have all volunteered their services. There will also be a special surprise act before Suluman and Jah Prayzah and The Third Generation close down the show,” said Nyandoro.

He said 23 out of 30 VVIP tables valued at $300 each had been sold with expectations that the rest will be sold out by close of business today. The rest of the tickets are being sold for $10 each at all Chicken Slice outlets, Dandaro Inn and the HICC.

Nyandoro also took time to applaud corporate players – Zimbabwe Defence Forces, Zimbabwe Republic Police, Rainbow Tourism Group, Champion Insurance PSI and ZTA – for making the project a success.

The album will be available in major cities by tomorrow.
